Sales Strategy Manager

Job description

The Company

The Plum Guide is on a mission to build the definitive collection of the world’s best homes. Through expert human curation and innovative tech, we’re taking a scientific and systematic approach to vetting every home in every city we open, and accepting only the top 1%. Like a modern Michelin Guide - but for homes.

We launched 3 years ago in London. Since then, we have grown 15-20% month on month; expanded to 12 cities; tested over 100,000 homes; developed a customer experience that’s returning the highest NPS scores in the hospitality sector; and are on track to reach over £25M in annualised sales.

We are backed by some of the world’s top VCs and angel investors who have built many of the world’s most exciting companies of today. These include TransferWise, Citymapper, BuzzFeed, Appear Here, Graze, SoFarSounds, GymBox, Secret Escapes and many more.

We’ve just closed a £14m Series B round of funding. Our focus for the next 12 months is on building an exceptional brand and customer experience; and maintaining hyper growth through an accelerated global rollout. This is where you come in.

The Role

We’re looking for a highly motivated Sales Strategy Manager to play the critical role of identifying key markets and categories that will have the biggest impact in growing our sales and NPS. Primary responsibilities include reporting and examine key metrics of sales performance, using these findings to advise and direct our sales efforts, setting the strategic agenda for current and future revenue growth. In addition, this person will be involved in key projects and deliverables such as business planning, forecasting, pipeline analysis, go-to-market strategy and execution, addressable market evaluation, etc.

Your work will be critical in helping us identify new types of housing stock to grow sales in our existing cities and prioritise as we continue our rollout in new cities globally.

This is the perfect opportunity to be involved in a growing sales organisation and have a huge impact.

Responsibilities

The role will be varied and partner with many departments across the company, but these are the things you can expect to do:

  • Analyse the sales impact of adding home stock in various size, price, and location categories

  • Scrutinise the health of the business and interpret key performance metrics

  • Create a process to update the sales teams about the categories of focus for their city as well as integrating with the CRM

  • Work with sales operations to ensure the right leads are prioritised for each city according to the model

  • Continuously monitor and analyse sales, search and homes data to inform the business teams (including city teams and performance marketing)

  • Roll out and train the sales teams on the impact of home characteristics on revenue

  • Partner with the Data team to build the systems/dashboards necessary so the business and sales teams have access to the right data and KPIs in real time

  • Contribute to the expansion project, including analysing the opportunity in prospective new cities

  • Derive recommendations and create action plans to address weaknesses and areas of opportunity

  • Execute key recommendations in collaboration with other functions and/or stakeholders

Requirements

About you:

  • Highly analytical: can deconstruct problems logically and solve them using data, insight and gut. You have relevant experience ideally from a consulting or e-commerce business.

  • Super entrepreneurial: You care about getting things done - and when obstacles inevitably get in the way, you know how to hustle

  • Product minded: you think in terms of systems and scalable, automated ways of building the business

  • Incredibly detail-oriented, insisting on organisation and absolute accuracy of information

  • A self-starting learner: confident teaching yourself to do things you have never done before

  • You’re all about implementation and results; not just ideas

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, ability to create a trusting relationship with business partners
