The Plum Guide is on a mission is to build the definitive collection of the world’s best homes. Through expert human curation and innovative tech, we’re taking a scientific and systematic approach to vetting every home in every city we open, and accepting only the top 1%. Like a modern Michelin Guide - but for homes.
We launched 3 years ago in London. Since then, we have grown 15-20% month on month; expanded to 6 cities; tested over 100,000 homes; developed a customer experience that’s returning the highest NPS scores in the hospitality sector; and are on track to reach over £25M in annualised sales.
We are backed by some of the world’s top VCs and angel investors who have built many of the world’s most exciting companies of today. These include TransferWise, Citymapper, BuzzFeed, Appear Here, Graze, Depop, SoFarSounds, Marvel, GymBox, Threads, Second Home, Zoopla, LoveFilm, Secret Escapes and many more.
We’ve just closed a £14m Series B round of funding. Our focus for the next 12 months is on building an exceptional brand & customer experience; and maintaining hyper growth through an accelerated global rollout.
This is where you come in.
Photographers are Plum’s champions. Imagery is one of Plum’s most important and differentiating assets, so we spend a lot of time getting it right.
In the role you can expect to:
Visit some of the most beautiful homes in the city and meet their owners.
Shoot & style homes according to our photography guidelines. Shoots take between 2 and 4 hours (depending on the efficiency of the photographer and size of the home).
Edit, re-touch and format images to meet the requirements we set out in our guidelines. Post-production takes between 30 minutes and 1.5 hours (again, depending on the speed of the photographer and size of the home).
Be an ambassador of the Plum brand and convey our passion for great design & high quality service to prospective Plum Guide hosts.
Work flexibly. Fill up your calendar with a high volume of fast turnaround shoots.
Add to your portfolio with a calibre of home you won’t find anywhere else.
Be trained in the world-class Plum aesthetic.
Explore your city and make connections with fascinating hosts.
Be part of a passionate, friendly and transparent culture. We’re building an amazing place to work where everyone is learning and challenging themselves.
Be given opportunities to grow into new roles. Some of our Photographers have been recruited for office-based roles or special projects.
You will be paid between $80 and $120 per shoot. Each shoot will roughly take between 2 and 4 hours, depending on the size of the home and the efficiency of the Photographer. The price and timings include: photographing and styling the home and editing the photographs (in either Lightroom or Photoshop) according to our guidelines.
We do not compensate for travel (however, most shoots will be conducted within the central areas of the city).
The application process will consist of:
A portfolio submission
A guideline exercise (we may ask you to take some sample shots, according to our photography guidelines)
We’re looking for energetic photographers who will be able to shoot homes according to our standards. Get in touch if…
