Financial Assistant

Job description

The Company

The Plum Guide is on a mission to build the definitive collection of the world’s best homes. Through expert human curation and innovative tech, we’re taking a scientific and systematic approach to vetting every home in every city we open, and accepting only the best. Like a modern Michelin Guide - but for homes.

We launched 3 years ago in London. Since then, we have consistently grown month on month; expanded to 12 cities; tested over 100,000 homes; developed a customer experience that’s returning the highest NPS scores in the hospitality sector; and are on track to reach over £25M in annualised bookings.

We are backed by some of the world’s top VCs and angel investors who have built many of the world’s most exciting companies. These include TransferWise, Citymapper, BuzzFeed, Appear Here, Graze, Depop, GymBox, Zoopla, LoveFilm, Secret Escapes to name a few.

Earlier this year we closed a £14m Series B round of funding. Our focus for the next 12 months is on building an exceptional brand & customer experience; and delivering hyper growth through an accelerated global rollout and you will play an important part in this.

The Role

Within the next 24 months we want to hit gross booking values over £100m with a double digit profit margin. Your role is to play a major part in building and running the financial infrastructure for the business.

We are growing super-fast, which means the specifics of the role will quickly evolve and morph. However, to bring it to life, here is what you can expect to be doing:

  • Working with the FC to help pay suppliers and hosts and managing any related admin - such as expenses questions
  • Handling the finance side of customer service issues involving processing refunds and compensation payments
  • Help with paying freelancers and managing any queries
  • Managing the monthly accounting for the credit cards and collating the related invoices
  • Creating invoices for guests and hosts
  • Managing the accounts inbox and handling day to day queries escalating to the FC where necessary
  • Processing Adhoc payments to guests and hosts and helping with processing them in our booking system
  • Preparing payout breakdowns for hosts on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Daily bank reconciliation within Xero
  • Adhoc and day to day finance and administrative tasks
