Through expert human curation and innovative tech, we’re taking a scientific and systematic approach to vetting every home in every city we open, and accepting only the top 1%. Like a modern Michelin Guide - but for homes.

We launched 3 years ago in London. Since then, we have grown 15-20% month on month; expanded to 6 cities; tested over 100,000 homes; developed a customer experience that’s returning the highest NPS scores in the hospitality sector; and are on track to reach over £25M in annualised sales.

Earlier this year we closed £14m Series B round of funding. Our focus for the next 12 months is on building an exceptional brand & customer experience; and maintaining hyper growth through an accelerated global rollout. This is where you come in.

The Role

The Business Development Manager is a newly created role within our B2B Partnerships team. This is an area of huge importance and huge amounts of untapped potential from a revenue point of view. You will be responsible for generating new clients within Entertainment/Production, Luxury Travel Agencies, and Corporations by cold calling, prospecting, and networking. Additionally you will instrumental in uncovering new business opportunities and building key accounts and relationships the B2B Department as we grow. With ambitious targets to achieve, this role requires talent with hustle and a natural ‘hunter’ approach. You should be eager for new challenges and opportunities for future growth.

As the first Business Development Manager in the team you have unrivalled opportunities to shape the role and accelerate your career in an industry shaping start-up. You will instinctively know when and where to be to create business opportunities and feel comfortable attending a number of industry and client events on behalf of Plum. Job requirements

About you

Having prior experience in start-ups isn't a requirement yet it is important you possess the following:

  • Have strong experience in outside sales experience within the B2B space
  • Are well connected and ideally you come with your own black book of contacts within Entertainment, Travel, Hospitality or Leisure.
  • Are a natural salesperson who is eager to develop and enhance cold calling, client meetings, networking, and ultimately revenue generation by driving each vertical.
  • Have relentless tenacity; The sales cycle can range from small, medium, and long term wins. We are searching for a candidate to make an immediate impact. You have an insatiable hunger to build and manage accounts until leads are generated.
  • You’re a People person; You enjoy cultivating relationships and creating a bond and rapport with clients and colleagues alike.
  • Possess excellent time management and organisational skills. Balancing behaviours and activities are essential; prospecting, selling, and account management.
  • Focus on an exceptional level of service to existing and future clients
  • Energetic, outgoing, proactive, and possess an adaptable sales technique.
  • Be able to work Independently, autonomously and manage active workload and targets.
  • Are able to have immediate impact to result in new client enquiries.
  • Show adaptability in terms of working & communication style.
  • Want to be a Plum ambassador; you will be the face of Plum at events, with clients and networking opportunities so we need you to look the part
  • Ideally have worked in the Hospitality, Entertainment, or Travel industry, however we have flexibility for a strong salesperson.
