Business Development Manager

Job description

The Company

The Plum Guide is on a mission to build the definitive collection of the world’s best homes. Through expert human curation and innovative tech, we’re taking a scientific and systematic approach to vetting every home in every city we open, and accepting only the top 1%. Like a modern Michelin Guide - but for homes.

We launched 3 years ago in London. Since then, we have grown 15-20% month on month; expanded to 6 cities; tested over 100,000 homes; developed a customer experience that’s returning the highest NPS scores in the hospitality sector; and are on track to reach over £25M in annualised sales.

We are backed by some of the world’s top VCs and angel investors who have built many of the world’s most exciting companies of today. These include TransferWise, Citymapper, BuzzFeed, Appear Here, Graze, Depop, GymBox, Secret Escapes to name a few.

Earlier this year we closed £14m Series B round of funding. Our focus for the next 12 months is on building an exceptional brand & customer experience; and maintaining hyper growth through an accelerated global rollout. This is where you come in.

The Role

The Business Development Manager is a newly created role within our B2B Partnerships team. This is an area of huge importance and huge amounts of untapped potential from a revenue point of view. You will be responsible for generating new clients within luxury Travel Agencies, Entertainment, and Production firms by cold calling, prospecting, and networking.  Additionally you will instrumental in uncovering new business opportunities and building the B2B Department as we grow. With ambitious targets to achieve £1M in revenue per month by the end of the year we need someone with hustle and a natural ‘hunter’ looking who is eager for new challenges and opportunities for growth.

You will instinctively know when and where to be to create business opportunities and feel comfortable attending a number of industry related and client events on behalf of Plum. As the first BD Manager in the team you have unrivalled opportunities to shape the role and accelerate your career in an industry shaping start-up. We hope you are as excited by this as we are.

At Plum we welcome a range of backgrounds of experience so if in doubt, please apply.
